As some of you know I suffered a heart attack a few weeks ago. I going to be ok... Lammy and I decided to return to WoW with you all. I have asked some of the our old friends to come back and play with me in Redux again. And I will be sending this message out as an email to old members. We will be doing some PvE and doing some PvP like always. Nothing hardcore or life sucking but designed around fun. Let us know on the forums if you are interested and making a return and having some fun like old times.

Of course Zinxx and the others have been doing a bang up job with Redux as always! Redux has been very active and chugging right along saving the world. I don't want to give the idea nothing has been going on.

Anyway... Don't want to get too cheesy. See ya all in game.

I just renewed http://www.reduxguild.org for the 4th year. For a guild that people told me wouldn't last 6 months (Some of you know who told me that Smile) We are now 4 years old and on to year number 5.

Good job everyone and thanks for playing with me. Smile

We now have had a few applications for Redux that are from Alliance people on another server in WoW. It seems the people are confused that have applied. Redux is not an alliance guild. We are a Horde guild and are 4 years old now. We are not http://www.reduxguild.net we are http://www.reduxguild.org. We are the original Redux in WoW and Dark Age of Camelot.

Please make sure you are applying for the correct guild. Thanks...

Sunday night we got together and headed out for Karazhan this was Redux's first "official" run into Karazhan and I will say it was quite the success! We didn't have a ton time time to put into it but we did do very well. We made to the first boss "Attumen the Huntsman & Midnight" and then moved to "Moroes" quite easily. I took a few screen shots for your viewing pleasure... Smile

Here is when we first stepped into Karazhan after fighting 2000000 Alliance camping the entrance. We all know how the balls of the alliance get when they out number you 10 to 1. Razz

First boss down! Woot!

Redux facing boss number 2. Which we didn't have time to finish but we will get him on the next run. We did get him down to 20% and simply ran out of time for this raid! Next time Moroes! Next time!!!!

We did get a few pieces of loot too!

Gratz Kassad!

Gratz Rhafe!

We should be starting another run to Kara very soon (This week). And hope to be hitting the instance regularly now that we have gotten many people equipped in the 5 mans... Great job guys and it was fun! Redux was ready like we all expected... Smile

Yes I cheated... Smile

I didn't create a custom page I downloaded a tool that will keep the roster updated from my PC. You can update your profile all by yourself too! You will need to download a MOD and upload your information to the web site. I put up instructions on how to do this at the below link:

http://www.reduxguild.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9386

Update your profiles! All the cool kids are doing it... Razz

BTW: Here is the new roster page:

Well today is the day! After all of us waiting 2 years the day finally arrived. The Burning Crusade is here. If you are a geek like me you did the midnight event at your local gaming store and got your copy. If you didn't well I guess you have more reason then me. Razz

2 years of waiting... Wow!!! Now that it is here I have one thing to say. GET LEVELING! Because Bleeding Hollows best and one of the longest standing guilds has names to take and asses to kick! Let the killing begin! The time is here... Smile

I know it has been a long time guys. Thanks for sticking with Redux through the thick and thin and being such good friends for such a long time. Yet a another new chapter in Redux begins today!

See you guys on TS tonight! Gimps! LMB!

Have a good day guys! Smile Be safe too! That is a guild rule!

As we all know TBC is coming in our hot little hands in about a month. One of the aspects of the expansion I am excited about is the PvP. World PvP will be cruel and harsh like the old days. Here is a trailer video from last nights video game awards. But in this trailer it gives you indication of how things are going to be. Are you ready? I know I am! Once again Bleeding Hollow will feel the pure intimidation of Redux. I can't wait!

Edit: BTW the Orc that falls in the trailer is a bit unrealistic IMO. We all know Orc's cannot be killed in any way shape or form! And those Alliance fools couldn't put down a Orc if they had a thousand of their wimpy Legolas Arrows!

Finally after almost 2 years of the most screwed up PvP rewards system known to MMO's Blizzard patches their game with something that makes sense! Today they get rid of old honor system and move to a new one that you can build your toon in PvP over time. Not a ladder system that degrades week to week if you can't play like a mad man or a mad woman...

I for one am very excited that this change is finally here. It will give new goals and create new fun for the whole game as well as Redux!

They have not updated their site with all the new information. But here are the test note below: (I will update this link as they get around to changing it. Blizzard has a lot of changing on their site to do.)

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/patchnotes/test-realm-patchnotes.html

Also with this patch is the new "Arena System". Although I don't believe the actual "season" begins until the expansion and you gain level 70 you can read about the new content we have to look forward to. Click below!

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/arena/index.xml

These are very positive changes to the World of Warcraft. Now we are on the final road to the expansion! Time has been moving slow for me with all the waiting. But we are almost here! About 5 more weeks to go. Give or take... Smile

So get ready kids! I know it seems like a long time coming but it is soon before us...

Redux is now 3 years old! Even though most of us have been together for about 2 years prior to the creation of Redux and even longer for some people. The actual start of Redux started 3 years ago today! We where created on October 20th 2003 in Dark Age of Camelot! 3 years and still kicking! Gratz everyone for making this happen and thank you! Even though many hard and trying times you all stuck with it! We have more great times to come!

Look out World of Warcraft (The Burning Crusade)! Bleeding Hollow horde oldest longest standing guild is still alive! And we are just another year older! Redux in WoW was created at 9am EST November 23rd 2004 in WoW and still going there too! Smile

Gratz Everyone!

Oh and BTW Razz to the people that said we wouldn't last! hehe Smile

Blizzard has announced an exploit in Windows that is a WoW keyloger. They are having huge problems with people getting their accounts stolen. It is a link that people click on and use Internet Explorer and it steals your password next time you log in.

STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER AS YOUR MAIN BROWSER! GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND DOWNLOAD FIREFOX...

http://www.firefox.com/

It has less problems then IE and runs better and has cooler tools you can install. You will be much safer.

DON'T BE A CAVEMAN!

http://www.firefox.com

If you are just simply too lazy to install firefox at least update Windows.

Here is the original post by Blizzard it is not their fault:

I will tell ya... The hype on this game is like no other. Is praying for a video game to be realeased soon wrong? Probably... Shocked

Well we all have been waiting to see the future of WoW. It seems that with the Burning Crusade the future is bright to say the least. Some of the new changes coming in the expansion are the following:

- 40 man raid instances are gone. The new max cap for end game raiding is now changed to 25 people. Lots of 5 man which you can scale to harder level when you are in a group of level 70's. This will enable you to get better loot from these 5 man instances.
- 10 man raid instance.
- Instances now are 5 man, 10 man and 25 man.
- Total scraping of the honor system. Now you gain honor to get spendable points to obtain equipment from PvP. NO MORE DECAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Outside PvP with a capturable town! Along with the honor to participate this will give a 2 day buff which has not been disclosed yet. With no decay in PvP advancement outside PvP is something you can do. WOOHOO! Is all I say! Smile
- Paladins come to the horde and shamans come to the alliance. Now we have to fight those bastard shamans but in turn we get the bubble baby!

Those are just some highlights. All of us here in Redux are excited that we can now not have 200 people in the guild to be effective in WoW! (Of which we refused to do as many know.) The honor system is gone! Now build your toon like you have always wanted to PvP wise...

Here is the gamespy article:

This looks to be what we all have hoped for!

Now expect to see the full return of Redux in World of Warcraft the months to come! Let's git her done! Smile

Posted by: Granz on: August 13, 2006 at: 12:24 pm

Whats next? Forced guilding? Or forced raiding? Because the babies are not getting HP's? Yes I know there is a way around this when it goes in 1.12 but come on why are we going to have to go through that much work just to play together. If I want to group with someone in PvP I want it to be on my own terms not because some punks think everything should be "fair". Get it straight life is not fair! Read my post on the WoW general forums...

Taken from Age of Conan Website

Gameplay Preview #9 - Siege PVP and Massive PVP

- Jul 28, 2006
This week take a look into the bloody conflicts that players will be able to engage in within the Border Kingdom PVP zones in Age of Conan

Destruction and betrayal brought about by the thirst for power is the nectar of Hyboria - the one constant in the world of King Conan. Death reaps a rich harvest in the battles for power between rival warlords, tribal chiefs and would be pretenders to the throne of Aquillonia.

As king, Conan has opened up the Border Kingdoms for conquest. The constant strife from other nations in the area has let him grant prerogatives to whoever holds the area! The border kingdom will once and forever be part of the great Aquillonian Empire! As befits the legend of the king himself only those with the strength of will and sheer ferocity for hard fought combat will emerge victorious in these most challenging of environments!

Bloody and hard fought, these battles will be just as integral to the life of guilds that enjoy PVP in Age of Conan. Entire guilds will lay their reputations and honor (or dishonor in some cases!) on the line to hold the coveted battlekeeps!

The Aim of the Game!

We aim to provide players with truly meaningful goals and ambitions in PVP. The joy of battle and glee of destruction will shape the blood soaked landscape of the border kingdoms. This conflict will provide those with ambitions for power the means by which they can forever carve their place in Hyborian history.

We have separated these border kingdoms from the rest of the gameworld for two reasons. Firstly we know that PVP isn’t for everyone, secondly we wanted to be able to craft an area for PVP without compromises to PVE. This system should provide a real sense of purpose to PVP combat (other then casting aside the broken limbs of your enemies of course!)

Battlekeeps versus player towns

One important clarification before we get into the details on the Battlekeep system is that the keeps are a separate system from the normal player built towns, although they use the same building system, so in learning one you will know the other (we will cover the PVE player towns in more detail in a future article), so player controlled land comes in two distinct types.

The resource building playfields that will house normal player towns will not be PVP areas, and will be fully instanced, meaning if your guild has the power and resources to maintain a town, it will always be able to do so. These are the areas where the RTS style NPC AI will build opposing camps and towns and threaten player towns. So whilst the normal player towns will still need defending and not be totally safe, they wont be prey to the most dangerous of opponents – other players! That is where the Battlekeeps come in!

We felt this was important so that players who wished to own towns and engage in battles with the NPC towns can do so without having to get involved in PVP if they don’t want to. However Battlekeeps will provide the worthy guilds with the skill and tenacity to survive the harsh world of PVP combat with another totally separate avenue for gathering even greater resource rewards!

Battlekeep Zones

These border Kingdoms are a dangerous and usually lethal environment. The rivers that coarse through their valleys, or the rolling grass plains that stretch between the mountains are more likely to be stained with the blood of fallen warriors, as they are anything else.

Each zone will be home to a number of pre-defined locations where a Keep may be built, but unlike the PVE player towns there will be a limited number of zones on each server, blood will have to be spilt to hold these most coveted of locations.

These zones will also be fully PVP enabled, you had best have your weapon at the ready if you dare to venture there as the Battlekeeps will not be the only reason to seek out bloody conflict in the border kingdoms. Each of the Border Kingdoms will be home to a series of other objectives as well, all offering the chance for the skilled to demonstrate their death dealing talents.

The Battlekeeps

Each keep will function as a hardened bastion for their owners. Hard won iron, stone and wood erected to stand as a mark of their standing in the Border Kingdoms, and a reminder to their enemies of the bloody conflict taken to earn and maintain it.

Like their PVE counterparts guilds will be able to populate the insides of their keep with a number of buildings and other amenities.

Players will be able to build structures like stables to provide cavalry, forges for constructing siege weapons, sentry towers that provide essential respawn points, as well as farms and other resource buildings. These will in turn provide other useful benefits, like perhaps a vendor that will sell items to those who visit the keeps, or some NPC guards.

The difference with a battlekeep is that guilds will have to remember that there will be others out to destroy their hard work, so the investment in the keep will not come without risk!

Laying Siege to a Keep

Battlekeeps will have periods when they are open to challenges. A period of time when another guild can declare their intent to try and take the keep! We realise its not fun or practical to force players to be on alert twenty four hours a day so this system ensures that you will be given the chance to prove your are worthy of holding the keep by smiting those who would have the audacity to challenge your right to own the keep!

Would be attackers can declare their intention to issue just such a challenge by building a war tent outside the keep in question. This is performed by those with the Lord prestige class and will require resources to complete. It is important that it isn’t something a single player can do on a whim!

The defenders then have a period to arrange their defence and the attackers to muster their forces! Then the bloody zeal of combat commences and you are thrust into an epic battle for control of the keep, stone and fire will rain down from above as walls are torn down and buildings razed to the ground around the frenzied combat between your troops as the attackers try and bring the keep to its proverbial knees!

As already mentioned though, the keeps are not the only reason to venture into the border kingdoms!

The Resource Areas

These areas that are also rich in resources scattered around the zone will provide collectable resources for those who control them. Mines for iron, lumber mills for wood, prospecting stations along the river where gold can be dredged up and quarries for stone.

At any given time one or more of these locations will be active for players who control them to collect resources from. Whoever controls the flag for the resource point will earn resources for as long as they manage to hold the flag.

Towers

Looking out across the battle scarred environs of the border kingdoms stand several large stone built towers. These are almost like mini-keeps, holding them will provide some bonuses to your guild, but nothing like those of a full keep. You also can’t build anything around a tower.

These locations do though provide something that smaller guilds can still take and hold even if they perhaps don’t have the manpower or resource to hold a Battlekeep! Like the keeps, these towers will have periods when they are open for attack. This means those precious bonuses they provide will have to be defended through force of arms!

In Closing...

Crushing the skulls of your foes is fun, but in the border kingdoms the blood spilled, and enemies cast aside will truly have a purpose. A purpose that we hope will provide PVP players with a dangerous and challenging environment. Striving for the rewards and honor that can only be won in bloody conflict upon these fields of death will be the most rewarding of ways to prove your worth against the most skilled of opponents – your fellow players!

These border kingdoms will also be the only place where players can train PVP feats and spend the earnings they have gained from the corpses of their fellow players through our PVP Blood money system…oh wait…we haven’t mentioned Blood money before now have we! That’s definitely a subject for another update though.

Here is the scoop. I don't think any of us expected this to come out on time.

Now the focus on WoW. Hopefully they are going to get this expansion out this fall. Confused
